Identyfikator DOI

System ten sprzyja zwiększeniu widoczności publikacji, umożliwiając w prosty sposób (poprzez wyszukiwarkę) odszukanie za pośrednictwem Internetu jej metadanych przypisanych niezmiennie do określonego identyfikatora. Numer DOI zapewnia więc zarówno bezpośrednie kierowanie do pełnego tekstu, jak i utrzymywanie stałego łącza do cyfrowej zawartości – mimo zmian w obrębie metadanych albo lokalizacji pliku/ów.

Serdecznie zapraszam P.T. Autorów do publikowania w „Annales Academiae Medcae Silesiensis”. Informacje o czasopiśmie i zasadach publikacji zamieszczone są na stronie czasopisma www.annales.sum.edu.pl Redakcja zapewnia profesjonalne przygotowanie redakcyjne prac i publikację online.

Regulations for submissions to Annales Academiae Medicae Silesiensis Journal

Written by Przemysław Jędrusik. Posted in Uncategorised

REGULATIONS FOR SUBMISSIONS TO ANNALES ACADEMIAE MEDICAE SILESIENSIS JOURNAL
The journal “Annales Academiae Medicae Silesiensis” (hereinafter referred to as “AAMS”) is the official journal of the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice publishing peer-reviewed review articles, original research papers in pharmacy, medicine and basic medical sciences, case descriptions, letters, book reviews and editorial comments in Polish and English (publications in English are preferred).
The AAMS Editorial Office observes the principles embodied in the Helsinki Declarations and expects that all research on humans has been carried out according to those principles. When using animal models, the Editorial Office expects observation of the rules included in the “Interdisciplinary Principles and Guidelines for the Use of Animals in Research, Testing and Education” published by the New York Academy of Sciences’ Ad hoc Committee on Animal Research. All work related to humans or animals must be approved by an appropriate local Ethics Commission, which should be stated in the text.
All works submitted to AAMS are subject to verification by the antyplagiat.pl system.
Since 2013, the original (reference) version of the journal has been published electronically, available at www.annales.sum.edu.pl. Starting from 2015, articles accepted for issue are published on the website according to year, without division into individual editions.

I. REVIEW PROCESS
Submitted papers are evaluated in terms of values such as innovative description of the subject, their significance for the further development of scientific research and for clinical work. Submitted manuscripts are preliminarily evaluated by the AAMS Editorial Office. Manuscripts which do not fulfill the basic publication requirements will be rejected. Incomplete manuscripts or those prepared in a style inconsistent with the rules given below, will be returned to the authors without any content review. The remaining manuscripts are registered and subsequently passed to review by two independent, undisclosed reviewers who are not connected with the institution from where the article arose. In the case of work written in English, the article is sent for evaluation by at least one foreign reviewer. The decision about the acceptance of a manuscript for publication is sent by the Editorial Office to the corresponding author via e-mail together with a reference number, which should be used for further contact with the Publisher. Authors are encouraged to propose possible reviewers’ names, however, the Editorial Office reserves the right to the final choice. Acceptance of the manuscript for publication is based on positive opinions of the reviewers. The editors undertake to publish a list of all the reviewers of a given year of journals, once a year in the pages AAMS.
Works registered in the Annales journal reviewing service system are sent automatically to the anti-plagiarism system used by the Medical University of Silesia. The outcome of the verification procedure in the form of an evaluation report is attached in electronic form to the work and available to the reviewer(s) and the editor-in-chief of the journal. If plagiarism is detected by the system, the final decision on the acceptance or rejection of the work belongs to the reviewers. Anti-plagiarism evaluation in terms of the percentage threshold of borrowings is the same as for diploma theses and is regulated by the relevant decree of the Rector of MUS.

II. CONFLICT OF INTEREST
Upon submission, the authors of research papers are obliged to disclose, if any, all financial relationships between the authors and the company whose product has a significant impact on the work, or competitor. This information will not be disclosed to the reviewers and it has no influence upon the decision to publish the paper. After the manuscript is accepted for publication, the Editorial Office will define, together with authors, the form in which the information about financing will be revealed to readers. Authors can specify more than one type of contributions made to the article and more than one author can indicate the type of contribution. Other types of input, such as providing reagents and analytical tools should be indicated in the "acknowledgments".
In relation to the fact that review articles and editorial comments are based upon the selection and interpretation of data from available literature, the AAMS Editorial Office expects that the authors of such papers are free of any financial relationships with the companies whose products are discussed in the paper (or with competing companies).
It is requested that reviewers, members of the Editorial Office, the Deputy Editor-in-Chief, reveal in the form of a letter any relationships and circumstances which may adversely affect the publishing process of a manuscript subjected to review. This letter should include a statement of all financial relationships (if any) with the company producing the drug presented in the paper.

III. RESOLVING DISPUTES
Any disputes with the owner of the journal will be settled by the District Court proper to its seat. Legal relations between the journal owner and the author are subjected to Polish law regulations and international conventions binding in Poland.
IV. PERMISSION FOR PUBLICATION
Previously published materials should be accompanied by written consent for reprint, both from the previous publisher and the authors of the original work. If information included in the description of a case, in illustrations or in original texts allows for the identification of persons, their written consent for publication should be provided.

V. TRANSFER OF COPYRIGHTS
When submitting a manuscript together with illustrations and tables, the author(s) declare(s) that the submitted manuscript has not been previously published or submitted to any other journal (excluding summaries not exceeding 400 words). Additionally, it is stated that author(s) automatically and at no cost, transfer all the copyrights for publication and distribution of the submitted materials in all known forms and in the all the exploitation fields of the journal owner, provided that the materials were accepted for publication. Simultaneously, the author(s) agree(s) that the paper will not be published elsewhere or in any other language without prior written permission from the copyright holder. In order to transfer copyright, the author(s) send(s) a cover letter to the editor in accordance with the principles set out in Section IX of this Regulation.

VI. RESERVATION
The Editorial Office and Publisher make all efforts that information published in AAMS is credible and accurate. However, opinions expressed in articles are published under the authors' sole responsibility. Therefore, neither the Editorial Office nor the Publisher can be held liable for the consequences of any inaccurate information. The drug doses and other numerical values are checked with due diligence, but any treatment regimens described in AAMS should be used according to the information published by the manufacturer.
