ABSTRACT
This case study presents the problem of developing tubulointerstitial nephritis and nephrocalcinosis in a patient on long-term loop diuretic therapy ( furosemide). Complications of prolonged furosemide abuse lead to calcium metabolism disorders and may also cause nephrolithiasis and nephrocalcinosis. First line treatment, in particular cases, seems to be cessation of furosemide intake.
