ABSTRACT
Introduction:
The aim of this paper is to check haw the recommendations concerning an intake of vitamin D (2009) and (2007) are realized at different time after their introduction, in infants living at the Upper Silesia.

Materials and methods:
The inquiry study was conducted among mothers of infants 6 to 12 months old, living in urban agglomeration. The questionare was filled by 149 mothers – 100 mothers in 2009/2010 (group I) and 49 in 2013 (group II). An individual evaluation of vitamin D and K intake in each month of life, with regard to the manner of feeding and to the principles of the practice guidelines for vitamins intake, was done. The results were analyzed statistically.

Results:
The better compliance with the principles of guidelines concerning vitamin D intake has been found in breast feeding and in milk formula feeding infants from the group II. The proper vitamin K intake by breast feeding infants was significantly more frequent in the group II. In this group, in milk formula feeding infants the needless vitamin K supplementation was more frequently applied.

Conclusions:
1. In spite of the introduction of obligatory guidelines for vitamin D and K supplementation a few years ago, some infants in urban agglomeration at the Upper Silesia don`t receive them properly. The longer period of time when the practice guidelines are obligatory, is connected with the better compliance with recommendations. 2. Since vitamin D and K are of great significance for human health, their supplementation in infants should be under precise control
